It consists of excision (cut), greater or less, depending on the case, of mucosa, submucosa and ficromuscular layer. The roughly spindle-shaped incision is made in such a way that it does not appear later.

The operation is preferably performed under local anesthesia. The results are very good.

Is aesthetic thickening simple?

It is called Bardotization or Queilo-auxesioplasty (queilo means lip; auxesis, to enlarge). The treatment in these cases is simple and consists of the excision of an appropriate segment of skin in the shape of a gull wing and suture of the mucosa (red lip border) in its position. The resulting scar is practically imperceptible, especially with the use of “lipstick”. The operation is usually done under local anesthesia.
